The Buckets by Greg Cravens for December 29, 2013
Transcript:
What are you doing? Writing a letter to baby new year. What for? To tell him what I want him to bring me. Baby new year doesn't bring presents. Maybe that's cause nobody writes to ask him to! Right. Well, go ahead and mail it. But don't expect anything. Not this year but if I mail copies to all the giant retail stores by next year, there will be New Year's presence. Snatch shred shred shred shred I will pay you twenty dollars never to throw civilization under a bus like that. Twenty-five every new year.
Trivia: In some countries, it is Baby Jesus (instead of Santa Claus) who traditionally brought gifts for the kids on the night from the 24th to the 25th of December. And in other countries the gifts were (are?) brought by the Three Wise Men (aka the Three Kings or the Magi) on January 6th. That’s because they were the ones that brought gifts for Baby Jesus in the Biblical stories. (Yeah, I know. Sorry for going off-topic there.)
