The halo is actually the light reflection of the anti-gravity field produced by the tiny wings but without a working model it is displayed as a solid object. Source used was Britannica Encyclopedia circa 2214.

The halo symbolizes the aura of purity that surrounds them. The wings are decorative as Doctor Toon said. Actually they use a transporter system very similar to the Star Trek transporter. Only they use mind control rather than radioing an operator to beam them up. They just think of the place they want to be, and Zot!, they’re there!

Hey! The Goa’uld had a Ring Transporter System in the Stargate movie and SG-1 TV Series, except they were evil and the Rings were a lot bigger and… oh, forget it! :-)

Always thought the halo and wings were like a top hat and dinner jacket. Now the transportation thing….. don’t they just blink and they’re gone or now over there?Larry looks so happy in the last panel. Forgotten alllll about Sarah whacking him.
