Dad, what's all this about taking clocks somewhere else to trick the sun? Eddie, is this science homework? I can't handle any Einstein quantum stuff before coffee.
Yes, this is the continuation of the story arc which addresses the stupidity of DST.We have returned to Standard Time, which is the true time (that’s why it’s called “Standard”), and we need to stop this nonsense of losing an hour of sleep every springtime. This antiquated WW2-era practice messes with the human biological clock. That’s all it accomplishes. It doesn’t save energy, contrary to the lies spread by the government. It is definitely not for the benefit of farmers, whose livestock must be fed at the same time of day regardless of how the clock is set. The myths go on and on, and people keep falling for this year after year. One of the posters yesterday pointed out the fact that the earth is constantly tilting, and this is the reason for the variance in the amount of daylight throughout the year. There will always be that time of year when the evenings get dark earlier; just as there will be mornings with later sunrises. It’s part of the change of seasons, plain and simple. Screwing around with resetting the clocks every spring does not change the position of the sun. You are not achieving more daylight. You are merely deceiving yourselves by getting up an hour earlier.Leave the clocks alone. Give people the option of starting work an hour or two earlier during the summer if they must have the extra daylight. This would be one way of compromising.Contact the government and keep telling them to stop this DST nonsense. There are many online petitions and other sites which make it easy to contact the White House, Congress and other political organizations. Don’t give up, and maybe someday common sense will prevail.
