Turns out, all we needed all along was for the spammers to make the people running things look bad. They got greedy trying to hawk fake COVID-19 cures/tests/insurance and BAM! This happened. No more access to American telecoms. It was that easy. Should have been done years ago. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/04/03/ftc-fcc-crack-down-coronavirus-robocall-scams/#comments-wrapper

Whenever I get a call from work my phone tells me it’s potentially spam.

We move from Atlanta to two separate small towns in South Carolina here and still get those annoying calls!

This does work. Otherwise you would be answering each call.

The FCC is going to make the phone companies fix this. I just heard that two days ago.

Spam calls are bad enough (I ignore them), but some of them leave messages.

Remember when it was enough to passively ignore the phone?

I think I’ve been called by every number in Miami, I live in CA.

We have an old fashioned phone and answering machine. If there’s a message I listen, but mostly just dead air.

I wonder how many “one last chance” calls I’m going to get from Steve at Dealer Processing.

I stopped answering my phone a couple of years ago. So many spam calls on both my landline and my mobile. If they know me, they can leave a message.

The other night we started getting calls from the same out of country number every 15 seconds or so. I unplugged the phone.

I like phones with caller ID. If I don’t know the number, I don’t answer. Saves a lot of wasted time.
