l leave small plugin night lights on for that very reason. I’m not afraid of the DARK, I’m afraid of tripping or stubbing my toe in the dark. Not worth it.

I have several solar night lights around the house just for that purpose. I was tired of tripping over dog toys and knocking my chins on different things. They work great! Love the Dollar Tree!

We have small motion sensor night lights in the bathrooms and the stairwell. There are enough tiny LEDs in power strips, air monitors, computers, chargers, etc to show the way elsewhere.

This is why I always carry matches and candles in my pockets.

Cell phones make a decent light & you can get a flashlight app. Or, carry a pocket flashlight. AND maybe consider timers to turn on lamps when it gets darker? Or nightlights in strategic positions? Falls & “barked” shins are very dangerous for those of us at a certain age & inadequate lighting is not to be trifled with.

The cataracts keep it dark all the time.

Somehow the furniture just magically moves when it’s dark.
