my dad waa a banker, and I knew it pretty early. It was a small town, and the bank had a cook who made lunch for every one and Dad would invite me down for lunch sometimes. The cook was excellent – even the mayor came in often. Hamburger day was the best, the cook made homeade buns and people could smell the cooking a block away.
I would like to point out that, twenty four years ago when I was first talking to Scott Stantis about taking this comic strip’s art duties, I was told what Larry does for a living. I have not expanded much on that ever since, because Scott didn’t in his first ten years of the strip either. Now, This week, you will finally be the first people outside a very small circle to discover what the heck Larry does outside the general “in charge of some salespeople at a company”. Enjoy the big reveal. I’m sure the comment section will become even more entertaining than usual.
Being a retired purchasing agent, I figured sales was his game right off, but after some 40 years dealing with salesmen I’m good to pick up on that kind of thing.

He’s been fourteen years old for the last twenty years and he still doesn’t know what his Dad does for a living?

Because if you do, it might reflect poorly on me, even though it has nothing to do with me. And dog knows, it is all about me.
