Yesterday’s NYTimes (11/03) had an Op-Ed about how young people these days keep several “social” (or just plain sexual) things going at a time, with two people who are seeing each other on any particular occasion constantly texting to see if a “better offer” is happening from hour to hour, and continually calculating and jockeying to see who will dump who for whom at any moment. A farther cry than ever from an evening of “traditional dating.”
Sort of like a Wild West back before any social graces (if there ever was such a time). Columnist David Brooks decries the trend, of course.
Sounds like the Elderpark Generation. and especially its Wild Westerner, is susceptible to some of the same urges!
Or is it just that Corey has just been reading the newspaper of his new hometown, seeking inspiration for the same day’s strip (do things work that fast in cartooning??).
