Like most new generations, The Elderberries is different with a new author/artist - better in some ways, not in others.
Corey Pandolph plunged into a trial-basis experiment that turned into a major commitment to fill some big shoes. He has always been very aware and frank about that. (His comments on his Fake Rockstar blog are probably all still there if you want to see his take on it.)
I’m happier with The Elderberries than I was when it was in the hands of its mature and long-experienced creator. Considering how lame some classic comics have become in their creators’ hands, that’s saying a lot.
