I have always liked Elderberries. Especially when Phil Frank did it. I thought the art was phenomenal.

I also think Mr. Pandolph has done a really good job with the feature. The only negative I’ve experienced over the years since mr. Frank left us is that the comic seems to stop one panel short sometimes.

Today is a perfect example. Mr. Pandolph has set up a big punchline perfectly but stopped before delivery.

I’m no humor writer, but something to the effect of “dinner is always better with friends.” or maybe Boone thinking that Dusty might try to eat him because he knows him personally?

I’m not sure I agree - I frequently find things funnier when the implications of the setup are left implicit rather than spoon-fed to the reader. Further, in this particular case, I found the “I knew them all personally” to be a perfectly fine punchline all by itself - I don’t think your suggestions would have really added anything to the humor.

I ask honestly: what is funny about knowing them personally? It’s more of an odd remark than a punch line.

I knew several of my steaks personally.

Most came from Samson 1500lbs and the rest from Hercules 1200lbs.

Since I’m not near a farm anymore, all my steaks are strangers.

All of my steaks have been strangers and a few have been excellent.
