When I suggested that we have TG dinner at the mission, instead of at the in-laws’, she got mad. I told her that we could drop a $100 bill when leaving, there would be all kinds of food, everyone would be thankful and better company.
I got to eat at the counter at Denny’s that year – by myself.

How sad. I’m glad I have a huge family to greet during the holidays, and I miss my grandparents, uncles and cousins who have passed on.
