The General: Ms. Overdunne...I'm curious. What's with the garden gnomes? Ms. Overdunne: The gnomes mark the Elderpark property perimeter. They are there for the residents' security, General. The General: Oh? Miss Overdunne: Should one of the residents stray beyond a gnome, a signal will be sent to our security office. The General: Well...cheaper than barbed wire and guard towers, I'd guess.
This strip confuses me. If the residents of Elderpark have dementia I can understand the need to keep them safe within the perimeter. BUT the residents we see are perfectly fine. Why are they being held “prisoner”?
