The Vulcan neck pinch would do the job. It wasn’t really harmful but it did stop the person who got pinched from doing whatever it was Spock wanted them to stop doing.

Thought Vulcan’s were supposed to never get emotional, just logical?
After his kids grew up, Dr. Spock retracted EVERYTHING he said.
