We decided to “drag” the main avenue in our wedding clothes, and several of our wedding party piled in my in-law’s 1973 Chrysler Imperial for the trip. (Looked a lot like the one my husband owned, so many people thought it was his.) Got a picture of us in the back seat. Afterward, we went back to the church and changed into our “going away” outfits, but carjacked a groomsman. We’d hidden a car at our hotel so no one could mess with it (some friends & family were known for pulling pranks) and the hotel was on the way home for this groomsman. What made it even weirder, is that someone had stolen my purse and the billfolds of many of my attendants, so we had to go to my apartment first to cancel the credit cards. We were so depressed, that we made that groomsman eat supper with us, and visit with us in our honeymoon suite until we were in a better mood. He was single, so was pretty nervous about being there!
