I’ve been remote for five years and I had my own office before the reorg and move. I was offered up a cube for my rare visits to corporate. Before my first hour in the cube was up, I grabbed my laptop and backpack, walked from the cube to the shop floor, and found an empty spot on a bench in the repair department. It was a better background noise and the shop guys made it my workspace for when I’m there.
Some years ago, when I was working at TiVo, there were five guys named Dave working in the same part of the second floor of my building. If somebody said “Hey, Dave!” heads popped up all over the area… I referred to it as “fun time at the meerket colony!”
