Nope, we don’t/won’t use automatic pay. It’s way too easy for something to go sideways.
After my mother died, it was an enormous @#$%&!! hassle to get the automatic bill pays stopped; even after calls, faxes of the death certificate, emails, and months of time consumed, all the while receiving threatening calls and letters.
