I have the manifest from the ship with my great-grandfather coming over from Ireland (via www.ellisisland.org). Three years later (presumably after he got settled) the rest of the family came, including my grandfather, age 2. Hmmm.I’m thinking g-granddad went back briefly but because he had already immigrated, his return entry wasn’t recorded.
