Enough already, Keef. We normal, decent, level-headed people have gotten the point already…we got it after the first strip. We’re not stupid. And, believe it or not, the great majority of cops are NOT trigger-happy. They are normal, decent, level-headed people, too (all three of my sons!). C’mon. We love you. We love your characters. Please don’t forget about US.

It seems that there is a lot of frustration being expressed here.My biggest frustration in this comments section is that there seems to be far more talking than listening. At the core many of you are expressing the same basic desires of improved community relations, improved safety, a need for respect and for the rights of others, and understanding that everyone in any group is an individual. In all honesty, what matters is to extend these to ALL.There is a heck of a lot that can be acheived when people bother to respect others, treat them as they would want to be treated themselves, politely get clarifications or definitions when needed, and LISTEN. Some of you are complaining that the strip is staying in one place, but the discussions here seem to at times be doing that far more. Changes are needed, big, wonderful, and progressive changes, but change does not happen without communication, and communication does not happen unless people listen as well as talk.

One can truly grieve for every officer who’s been lost in the line of duty in this country and still be troubled by cases of police overreach. These two ideas are not mutually exclusive. One can have great regard for law enforcement and still want them to be held to high standards. (Jon Stewart, paraphrased)
