I dislike TVs in restaurants for just that reason. Even though I am not a TV-watcher, I will be distracted by whatever is on the screen, particularly sports.
OTOH, I just had dinner at a sports bar and ate during the whole run-up to the Preakness. The waitress brought our change as the horses were being loaded in the gate, and my wife refused to stay another five minutes to watch the race. She’ll be flipping channels and find the pitcher winding up, and here’s the throw— click. Maddening.
