The Knight Life by Keith Knight for September 15, 2019

Notice in my local newspaper, The Washington Post, in the Sunday comics section, that Keith Knight is ending his strip. The Post will replace it with Nancy by Olivia Jaimes!

Good luck with the TV show. Gonna miss you.

#5230: Belongs to “Life’s Little Defeats!!”.

The Knight Life is the second newspaper comic strip to officially end in 2019 with the other being Jerry Van A.‘s Ballard Street. Though there’s still no word if Get Fuzzy is #3 in 2019 newspaper comic strips to officially end.

What the hell is going on? Why is The Knight Life ending?

I’ll miss this strip.

“Nancy” is trying to appeal to teenagers and twenty-somethings. I’m not in that category so I don’t like most of it – but IMO it’s now far superior to the Nancy of my youth, who was insipid! Although perhaps it’s now just insipid in a different, more modern way.

I wish him the best of luck. I really enjoyed his comic strip over the past several years.

Per his Instagram Keef says he’ll still be doing his weekly K Chronicles strips on Patreon. Hopefully they’ll trickle over GoComics way as well

Mr Knight is far too talented to remain in today’s sadly-diminished newspaper comics. He’s really paid his dues here. But we may never know the secret identity of the Masked Maggot.
