We had a department secretary who had to have everything purple in her office and she LOVED Garfield. I’ve read some but it’s not included in the ones I normally read on any of the 4 sites I use. I only read the ones I really like.
Over the Holidays I did figure out accidently what type of folks find Garfield funny, my nephew, who is four thought that Garfield was the funniest thing he’d ever read.
I teach new media at Ryerson University. In my class this term, we looked at interactive storytelling (ie: hypertext fiction, interactive movies, et al). I will be sure to show my class this cartoon.
I’m especially safe because not only am I parodying Garfield when I have Barfly in the strip, but I drew the image of Barfly myself and thus am not using any image owned by PAWS.
Plus, I actually draw Barfly sitting like a real cat, the way a certain other caroon cat used to.
To give him his due, Garfield has been a comic strip once. Anyone who can’t understand the bashing should read a few strips from somewhere around the start of the 80s. The comparison inevitably causes bitterness… or parodies. :)

If you enjoyed this, the live action version starred Mickey Rourke.

Wow, if I counted correctly, that’s enough material for 10 strips! (The original would probably make 12 out of it.)
And he looks exactly the same in every panel, too! (eye movements and stencils for minor body parts excluded) You really got it down. Uncanny.
(Um, wrong cat, Lio.)

Hold it! Lio appears and the cat’s not hungry anymore? Row 4, column 1

Lasagna is funnier than steak…Brings Garfield from dreadful to dismal. Thesaurus: Unfunny >see Cathy>see Garfield.

MrPinkle, if you don’t like this strip, don’t read it. The rest of us appreciate Pab’s work.

I’m not sure MrPinkle was panning the strip, actually; just Garfield.
Great one today!
