For those who haven’t figured it out, the “Crazee Clipz” example is one of those animated characters to provide help to users of Microsoft’s software products–an aberration best known in the form of Clippy, the “Office Assistant” paperclip who was introduced in Office 97 and only departed the scene completely when the company released Office 2008 for the Mac a year ago.
I guess the Silly Bandz were not as popular as Pogs™. Those lasted at least four months. As for me, all I used to do with them is stop up milk bottles.
You mean there are people young enough not to know about Clippy?
If, as a psychologist, I were to design a small program to disrupt people’s concentration and ability to think clearly at the office and make “flow experience” levels of competence impossible, it would look exactly like the Office Assistant. A classic Microsoft “we think (inaccurately) that you need this and will force it upon you” thing.
Hey, y’all prepare yourself
For the Rubberband Queen\
You’ve never seen a reign
Like the Rubberband Queen
She’s bound to hold control\
When the Rubberband, starts to slam!
Old Wolf - pogs were the circular centers of the caps used on milk bottles of yore. They didn’t actually “stop up” the bottles - they served to stiffen the caps.

The Silly Bandz craze ran its course in about 2 months. Even High School kids were wearing them, but now only little kids will admit to owning any.

Well, I was going to write, “Clippy must die,”, but….
BTW, for some reason, Clippy turned itself into a kitten on my computer the other day - and I didn’t do it!

But all Clippy wants to do is help!

Anything having to do with Microsoft is evil.
