I like that hypothesis, very logical and very plausible. I still believe the probability of earth life starting that way is lower than the the probability of life independently starting in multiple locations.
There is no such word as “virii” in English. It (or viri) may be used in computer geek language, but only to refer to “computer viruses” and never to real viruses.
…UF&C, this is English he’s talking, here – we make up new words all the time…if virii comes into popular use, it will become a recognized word, and can be used for just about anything the speaker wants to apply it to…it is one of the great things about our language…
“Virii” isn’t English. “Viruses” is English. “Viri”, “vira”, and “virii” are all fake Latin, roughly comparable to English “sheeps”, “sheepen”, and “sheepses”. All it does is say to people, “i is edjumacated, cuz i noes latin”.
Actually, probes that land on other bodies potentially capable of supporting life are sterilized to the best of our technological ability. And Europa – so far – has been avoided entirely.

In English the plural of ‘virus’ is ‘viruses’: in Latin it is a mass noun and therefore doesn’t have a plural.
