My prediction was right. I lost 20 subscribers between yesterday and today.
For the record: I abandoned the storyline I had planned for this week as too much work. I was actually planning on doing a backdoor pilot of sorts this week with Vic “regenerating” into Prince, the cat, a character from a strip I’ve wanted to do for a while called “Hairball Hollow” using funny animals to comment on the emptiness of suburban life. This was also why I joked about “backdoor pilots” a few weeks before. I was thinking of trying to start something I could then take to Sherpa or try to shop.
Other characters in the strip would have included the head of the House Pets Association trying to enforce restrictive covenants, the cat and dog couple who live next door, the uptight old cat who doesn’t approve of such things (or anything), and the White Hooded Woodpecker. (He’s a Flight Supremecist.)
But without an artist (though I’ve spent years trying to line one up) and realizing that taking on a fully drawn strip was beyond my abilities (let alone talent) I abandoned the idea once and for all.
Well, time to go think of something to do this coming week.
