Get a shiba. Mine not only killed several mice when he moved in, there have been no sign of any since. Shibas love small (mice and rat size) game. They also LOVE squirrels. (I live in the country… there are lots of field mice, voles and other small mammals roaming about.)
sigh. My beautiful Skye, my first and well-loved, nearly perfect Border Collie. Uber smart, an utter gentledog to the very end. Gave this suburban-born ‘n’ bred BC a special treat; booked a weekend at a B&B that specialized in raising and training BCs; had Rambeau sheep on the premises as well as six of their own BCs. With eager anticipation we took Skye up there to meet his destiny one snowy weekend. He went out to the sheep enclosure, politely met the sheep, touching noses, and moved on the next event, the walk in the woods, pausing to look back at us as if to say “Coming?” As I say, gentledog, born ‘n’ bred. sigh.
