Fun fact: Bears don’t actually hibernate, they go into what is called “torpor”.

    https://www.scienceworld.ca/stories/do-bears-actually-hibernate/

“The main difference between hibernation and torpor is that during torpor, the animal is able to wake up easily if hurt or threatened by predators. Pregnant female bears can also wake up from torpor to give birth, then go back to sleep afterwards!”

From what I’ve seen squirrels are up at sunrise and stay up past sundown. I think the thought of some other squirrel eating all the food gets them up and about.

We’re about a month away from the start of winter over here, so we’re still getting rain. But then, I think they’re still midsummer in some of the other cartoons, so to each their own….

It’s the sworn duty of every dog to ensure all the squirrels are on their trees and stay there.
