Mr. Lou, the weird little dude in the avatar image, is a shelter dog. 6 when we adopted, now almost 9. Both of his predecessors were rescues too.

Best Christmas miracle ever!!

3 of my cats are rescues, one was born here and the dog is a rescue too. Pad Paw, Eddie, Minerva and Badger. The dog is Snix, short for Snickers. Good buddies all.

A dream come true!

My nephew saw one day a kitten walking out of the forest to enter his house. They brought it to the vet who said he was starved, dehydrated and sick, and would probably not survive the night. Mr Socrate, one year and a half, is now the proud owner of our house and the two humans living there.

That WOULD be so very nice….

That is the magic of Christmas….it really melts a persons heart.

All my dogs and cats have been rescues. Best way to obtain a pet! Having worked at the local Humane Society, I know the fondest wish is for all pets to have good homes. Our director said that the day that happened, he would be first in line to drive the bulldozer to knock down the shelter. All of us would be out of a job but the day would be joyous.

Would that be wonderful if this were true.

Over the last 25 years we have learned we cannot foster. At one time we were parents to 9 furry babes – all with simple special needs – missing a leg or ‘looked scary’. 4 have ‘gone ahead’ and 5 remain to make our lives fun, interesting, and never boring. Loving your cartoon. Happy Holidays!!
