Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling Secret Agent Z In "Our Man In Washington" August, 2001. An e-mail comes in from the field, and all my finely honed instincts tell me it's trouble! Computer: We desperately need a search warrant for a suspected terrorist in custody. Years of experience have taught me how to handle this kind of crisis with immediate action! Secret Agent Z: Put me in for a personal day today! And do me a favor, hon -- pre-date the request to last week! But this case refused to go away. RING RING RING RING RING It forces me to employ all of my skills as an agent. Computer: We need a decision on Moussaoui! I'll circulate for comments. Not for nothing am I known as a Master of Disguise. Man: Phone call for Agent Z! Anyone seen him? The boys in the lab always have something to help out. Scientist: Disappearing ink! Initial a memo--then a day later, it's GONE! And sometimes an agent has got to improvise with whatever's at hand. Man: Well, no wonder you haven't gotten your e-mails! Someone poured Mountain Dew in your C.P.U. Finally, the crisis passes! Disaster averted: No decisions made, and my GS-15 salary has been successfully protected!
