They claim that vinyls have a higher quality but I’m not hearing it. I own a couple of vinyls to curiously explore this reason alone. In terms of music quality, I can’t usually tell any more difference beyond 256 kbps. From my experience, a lot of it usually has to do with the speakers.

I have a couple large boxes of vinyl in the garage.
The CDs are starting to migrate out there, too.

Maybe, but there are still people buying them form places that sell used vinyl records. They still prefer those to cds, tape cassettes and mp3s.

There never was “only vinyl”; before that shellac 78s, before that, foil cylinders, etc. None disappeared the instant the next appeared.
