I went to two real barn dances back in the late 1970s. The music and dancing were fun but some of the people were Deliverance people. One old guy tried to talk to me and I can honestly say I had no idea what he was talking about. His accent was thick and southern, I couldn’t understand him. This was AR.I flew home to San Diego and divorced my husband the following week so never went to another one. In 1981 I went to my first country western bar to hear a band and was hooked. Met my husband a year later at one.
