Thoof LOL Seagull and Spud with their wide side-eyes in Panel 2. At first, I thought Seagull might fly down with Wallace.

Anything that is still fun is worth still doing. That’s why I bought a still.

Half expected him to accumulate snow on the way down, ending up as a big ball with arms and legs sticking out..!

I remember sled riding with a friend on a golf course in the dark. I went down into a sand trap and hit the edge. The sled stopped but I kept going!

Never understood the attraction of inner tubes and saucers for winter fun. At least with a proper sled you could steer. When I tried the former, I _always_ended up facing backwards after only a few seconds

I remember snow tubing. Nothing quite like it. And I always enjoyed that at the end of the run you could fall out of the tube laughing and just lay there and look up into the sky as the snow was coming down and just enjoy the sounds of the tubes on the hill and laughter and the pines moving in the wind.

Opening panel: Wallace and Spud looking at a snowflake as it is falling. Wallace has his hand up to catch it.

Gimme my ol’ Flexible Flyer and its metal runners any day. That thing turned on a dime!

Oops. You can’t. I chucked it in the dump. Watched the Caterpillar machine crush it. Sigh. I was gonna hurt myself with it! You can’t go back again, folks!

Our sledding hill was approximately a quarter mile in length, twenty feet wide, with 2 “S” curves and a 90 degree turn near the bottom, trees and a 6’ deep rock filled ditch on the right, a 60’ tree filled drop to the left. An inner tube or a saucer was a total suicide ride. A toboggan was almost the same. With a steerable sled, you were lucky to get 2/3rds of the way down without wrecking on most trips. It was glorious!
