Actually, I find myself thinking more in terms of Gilbert and Sullivan, either King Gama’s “Oh don’t the days seem lank and long / when all goes right and nothing goes wrong,” or the misery of the politically and economically reformed Utopia, Ltd., when the populace is unhappy because there’s no conflict, until the invention of political parties makes possible the long-wished-for return of chaos and conflict.
