Wizard of Id Classics by Parker and Hart for December 15, 2024

Poor guard.

This fifty year old strip may have been the one which appeared on my 8th birthday on Sunday 15 December 1974. Today is my 58th birthday. I remember that my 8th birthday was on a Sunday and that in the afternoon I had the extra birthday treat of watching my favourite cartoon characters Tom and Jerry. Tom and Jerry cartoons were often shown on Saturdays and Sundays when they could be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Once again Fink comes up short.

“Midgets? I don’t know Sire. I was told there would be midgets and can’t imagine where they went.”

That was the moment he realized he was in deep trouble!

In the early 70s kids from our street built a snowman which was large enough to nearly peep into the window of the flat in the first floor/ upstairs. I was little then and can’t really remember how they managed. But I remember the great fun and Sonja who was 4 years older than me and took care that I stayed outside of the actual “construction site” but also could help a bit.

In the land of the midget, the short fink is King.

Guess the ‘Giant’ should have said a bunch of average sized folks were here.
