Nothing exactly ‘subtle’ about that distraction…

I had wished for this kind of distraction, when I was in school.

I worked at a restaurant. We had a party with a magician. I was watching from the back as he pulled colored scarves from nowhere. They were in a box hidden from the front but not the back. I saw them in the box, I saw them in his hand but I never saw him actually pull one out. He was that fast.

I’m seriously considering dropping the “new” Wizard of Id from my feed. It’s bad enough the the characters look “wrong” but the humor is just nowhere near as good as it used to be. Very disappointing for a strip I’ve read since childhood.

A couple of those magicians on “America’s got Talent” were really good. I swear one of them was a mind reader!

Not even Voldemort was capable of that kind of a distraction.

It is refreshing to see someone actually capable of making change, instead of just dumping the coins and bills into your palm or on the counter!

    Have a nice day…

I often see quarters disappearing into thin air when I visit one of the local casinos…

The question “If you are so smart, why ain’t you rich” comes to mind. Why is it that so many smart people want to teach at the college level rather than making money working for government contractors? Many live very frugally and die penniless.

Being alone, watching and listening to the gamblers, I became aware of an ugly looking character following me … a house “dick”. HeeHee

By any chance, did he/she ask you to play with him/her?

A former world-class magician retired to my neighborhood and was reduced to performing at children’s birthday parties. When he performed for my nephew his hands shook so badly he gave away some of his best sleight-of-hand. It was just so sad to see.

You know if you could practice real magic like the wizard here, would you tell anyone or keep it to yourself?

I’d keep it to myself, otherwise I’d likely live in a government facility somewhere against my will for the rest of my life while they experimented on me.
