Isnt that the point of wishes, allowing you to have access to the money, power, political will and wisdom to pull the kingdom straight. unlike today where there are 1000 strings to each
Things really have improved in the last 1,000 years. In 1017, the poor usually starved to death, all over the world, and if there was a crop failure, many more would die – there was simply no way to transport a surplus from elsewhere to the affected region using primitive ships and horse drawn wagons. No one could treat cancer, immunize against smallpox, or even had much of a treatment for pneumonia or influenza. An emperor might occasionally enjoy an iced drink in the summer – at the cost of thousands of man-hours of labor to pack ice so it would last for six months and to haul it from far away. Everyone else just suffered the heat.
The Americas were split between brutal empires that enslaved other tribes and carried out mass human sacrifice, and primitive hunter-gatherers who would send grandma out to die in the snow whenever they hadn’t gathered quite enough for the winter. In Europe, the coasts were frequently raided both by Vikings from the north and Saracens from the south; both sets of pirates would rape, murder, loot, burn, and carry the survivors off as slaves. Barons continually fought private wars, in which armored knights rarely died, but they would treat the peasants pretty much like the Vikings did. When winter came, everyone was cold; they had no fuel but firewood, and in every nation where the lords looked to the future, harvesting firewood was severely restricted lest the forests be gradually destroyed. Peasants would bring their livestock into their tiny huts to share the heat, while lords might have a roaring fire to huddle around, but their backs were to the cold of a drafty stone castle.
The world is much more peaceful now. There are exceptions, sometimes huge exceptions, but there are also huge nations that have had no war on their soil in over a century.
Most of the world is much richer now. In the USA, the poor can be identified by their high rate of obesity – and no, the crap they eat is not cheaper than buying good food and cooking it well, it’s just what they choose to eat. No one is too poor to have a TV and a pho
BS!!!! Racism is Alive and Well… Inequality and disfranchised is prevalent in 2017. You may have to wait for the apocalypse…All will be Even steven… No Privileged individuals in God’s eyes… God help us! In Jesus name Amen!

i realized religion was stupid when people pray to a god and ask for stuff AS IF that god was no different than asking a genie to grant their wishes.

No, not a chance, Mr. Genie! Humanity thinks it’s gotten smarter, but it’s still quite dumb!
