Or any of 10,000 Other scams seeking your credit-card numbers and verifications. For ‘security purposes’, of course.

If I ever get a robot call, it had better be R2-D2, or I’m hanging up.

The word “robot” would not be invented until the 1930s. Yet another of this wonderful strip’s anachronisms.

Bad if you are the one being robbed, good if you own the robot.

During the knights of old days before the turn of the twentieth century would a knight know what a robot is, that credit cards would replace cash money, and would a knight know that ‘online’ isn’t where you would hang your freshly washed laundry to dry?

A scam comes through as a text from USPS saying that we have a package for you with incomplete address . Click on link and give us this info. They say package is in warehouse. I’m retired from USPS and we didn’t ever refer to a facility as a warehouse. It was a station or office.

There is a little VIOP tone when they connect that says it’s time to pull their chains and then hang up. They are making stuff up, so I can lie and fabricate back to them, like telling them that Advantage Plans are not being accepted here by doctors and hospitals.

Google makes me click on a verification button that ungrammatically reads, “It was me.”

It should read, “It was I.” Really gives one confidence in a global megacorporation.

one of the things I learned from my physics teacher in high school many, many years ago was if you get an offer in the mail with a prepaid return envelope just send back the empty envelope, it helps support the post office.

One of my favorite things was when my wife answered a telemarketing phone call and they asked for me. She said I was out so they asked when I’d be back. she answered 7-10 years but maybe 5 with good behavior. there was a immediate click on the other end as they hung up.
