Think of GeoCities as an early form of MySpace or Facebook, but mainly for geeks. It allowed us space to make our own in a community that was still developing. Sort of like ICQ as a way to text before cell phones developed that abiltiy. I met my wife of 15 years on ICQ and she could see a little of my life on my GeoCities account. (I think I just dated myself severly)
I heard of geocities, but I did not yet (gasp) own a computer. When John and I started developing MARIA’S DAY, (so long ago…) I was still a relative newbie. By the time I came on board here at WD, I’d been on an iMac for almost one decade.

Man I miss geocities. Why did yahoo end it. It gave us the ability to create a free website

I was the official cartoonist for geocities. It was fun.
