Back in the late 90’s we had to work mandatory overtime (we did get paid) people used to come in at 10 on a Saturday the pizza would arrive at 12:30 , they would make sure the CIO say them and then leave by 1:30
We had a load of wiring shop workers that would come in on a Saturday to get the time and a half overtime payments. One weekend, their boss went into work to see how they were getting on as they had an urgent deadline coming up. When he found them all sitting watching the TV and not having done any new work that day, he sacked them all on the spot and hired new people.
Often at the office someone says “Thank God It’s Friday!” to me. I reply, “Yes, Every day should be Friday!” They invariably agree with me, no one gets it (if every day is Friday, there is never a weekend).

Ouch. I used to hate having to work on my days off.
