One of my employers got scared (back in the early 1990s) when the news had a story about a company getting sued because of an e-mail that one of it’s employees sent out, so it set up the e-mail server to automatically attach a disclaimer to everybody’s e-mail that in essence read that the content of the e-mail was the sender’s opinions only and was not the policy of the company… really threw a crowbar into the bid proposal works, since our proposals were usually sent via e-mail (those on the receiving end became confused about whether our bids and proposals were legitimate)…
