Intense arguments, the perennial them of cartoons and advice columns, yet I’ve never experienced it in my family, nor have any of my friends reported experiencing it in theirs. So I have to wonder if it’s actually common, or just something that it’s fun to exaggerate.

EXCELLENT! This was my family every holiday, however crying was a sign of weakness. Bonus if Mom said the “f” word and cried.
