I’m so old-school, I never bought into the bottled-water thing. Water comes (basically) free from the tap, why am I paying $1.29 for a plastic bottle?

NoBrandName I’m with you on that. Any cup container filled with tap water will do. I guess how thirsty someone gets.

aren’t there companies that take ordinary city tap water and bottle it?

new york city tap water used to routinely beat bottled water in taste and quality tests. probably still does, and it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s true of a lot of city water systems.

Just try and find out where the two most popular brands of bottled water are from. I tried. I’ll bet they’re Indianapolis municipal tap water.

Good question Lewreader, where’s the carbon in the “organic” bottled water?

That’s probably the most TRUTHFUL advertising around.

They just need to add “ZERO TRANS FAT!” to make it complete.

I’ve heard that about New York City tap water before. I’ve also heard that some of the bottled water you can buy in the store is exactly that… New York City tap water.

    ‘Organic water’?…Bottled water?…

Isn’t that why God gave us kidneys and taste-buds?…

and the ability to spit it out if it didn’t taste good….

Fact is most bottled water is just filtered tap water. I have been refilling the same four, one liter Aquafina bottles for 6 years or so. I figure I have saved about $7,000.00 plus have avoided sending 6,570 bottles to the landfill or hopefully the recycler.

Think about it: ORGANIC bottled water would be water that comes from an organism before it is bottled. Or maybe it’s better if you DON’T think about it!
