What with all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the almost unnoticed death, recently, of a very important person. Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote the Hokey-Pokey died peacefully at home. He was 93. But there was a slight problem in preparing him for the funeral. As the undertaker began putting him into the coffin, he got his left leg in and that’s when the trouble started.
I prefer singing in the rain. That’s why one-size-fits-all gurus don’t work out so well. The Beatles traveling to India for enlightenment is a case in point.

It is not quite that easy. You also have to know your left and right feet!

This isn’t particularly original. Jimmy Buffett has a song titled “What If the Hokey Pokey is All it Really is About?”.

I also recall a comedian asking a similar question years ago.

Maybe we can have Biden do it on one of those boring messages he gives.

Just be careful who you poke and what you poke them with.

You put your right foot in
You put your right foot out
You put your right foot in
And you shake it all about
You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around
That’s what it’s all about!
