Pig: My girlfriend Pigita and I had our big date at the drive-in movie, but there was a huge storm. Goat: How did you make out? Pig: I just put my lips against hers and we touched tongues. Why'd you need to know that?
“How did you make out” has the same meaning as “How did it go” or “How was it”. The other meaning of “making out” is all the things (Kissing, fondling etc) the are the lead up to sex. Hope this helps.
When Goat asked, “How did you make out?” he was asking what they did when the storm hit. Did it ruin their date? That’s what he intended by “How did you make out?” Pig assumed that Goat was asking how the two of them kissed. “Making out” means “faring.” It also means “intimate kissing.”
I grew up (outside of the U.S.) familiar with the first definition, as in “what happened?” Then I went to college in the U.S. — a “Bible college”, no less — and almost every time I used the expression there (innocently, like Goat), someone was sure to make some kind of suggestive comment about it. I learned to avoid the phrase.
Arrgh! Pig! How dense can you be? And why, why, why do you persist with that no-good Pigita? Is it just because she gives you some lip-and-tongue action? Oh, Piggy, Piggy….
I’ve been using a variation of that joke for at least twenty some odd years. It can be very versatile depending on who you’re with and what you were actually doing. :-P
We are fortunate enough to have TWO family owned drive-ins locally. They have great double features and pack them in all summer. You have to get there early to get a good spot. Trucks in the back.
Well…all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. Presumably, all pornographic movies do include making out (I’ve never actually seen one, but I assume so). However, there are plenty of instances where making out can be shown in a non-porno situation.
The Cherry Bowl closed? Say it isn’t so! I’m so sorry to hear about the owner! I grew up going there a few times every summer, and took my kids there, too. We haven’t been up that way since 2010, and that was just for a weekend. I’m heartbroken. Such a precious memory. I hope the community can rally to save it.
Goat means, “How did you guys manage to watch a movie at a drive-in in the middle of a storm?” The term “make out” in this instance means to get something done.

This comic is now rated PG-13.
Think it’s a joke? Wait and see if we don’t have comic ratings soon.
emjaycee about 11 years ago
Drive-ins still exist? I think all the ones in Florida have closed, now existing as strip malls or housing developments.

April Fools! Right, Pig? Pig doesn’t even talk to Pigita any more…right? Right???
mahnster about 11 years ago
BartJ, “How did you make out?” just means “How did things go? What was the result?”
reddlemansfu about 11 years ago
Goat, being the nerd he is, has never gotten that far with the opposite sex, and is genuinely confused.

VictoryRider about 11 years ago
It’s just a question basically asking “How did things work out?” or “How did it go?”
Hope that helps. :-)

I don’t understand why so many people are still explaining it after Bruno Z. did.
eddie6192 about 11 years ago
That dumb Pig went a little too far with that explanation, not so much though, at the drive-in.
knight1192a about 11 years ago
Wow, I wouldn’t have pictured Pigita getting even that far with Pig. Must have been her idea.

I remember Honor. We lived in Interlochen. Had a job site in Benzie Co. Seems there was only one traffic light in the whole county if I recall.

Purplei96 about 11 years ago
@BartJ385, Goat was asking how Pig was during the storm
Raygun about 11 years ago
The tongue comment was over the top for a , uh, family strip. On second thought, why stop there?
SwimsWithSharks about 11 years ago
Finally someone tells Goat how to kiss.
I bet he starts dating now.

You gotta love Pig’s literal replies.

“How did you make out?” means “What happened? Is everyone okay? Was anyone or anything harmed?”

WoodEye about 11 years ago
When fooling around at the drive-in, keep your foot off the brake pedal. The flashing annoys the cars behind you.

At least he got some tongue!
