C’mon, Carmen, it’s the thought that counts. No need to take your anger out on your grandnephew.

No we don’t!Some of my nicest kitchen things were Christmas presents.A really nice NEW set of pots to replace my old beat up ones…A new gadget I REALLY wanted…A new sink and a fancy faucet.

My hubby HATES it, but I can’t have candy, don’t need clothes, have all the electronics I need…This year, I asked "Santa for MS Office ‘13. YAY. (I got it, too!-not supposed to open before XMAS, but it’s here.)

I’ll admit the above stuff isn’t “romantic”.But as the saying goes…“If Momma’s happy, the whole family is happy.” That pot and pan set was expensive!!! But I’m a happy cook, and my family enjoys eating.

I like practical gifts, too … especially ones that I’ve been waiting until Christmas or my birthday for because they are too expensive to just go out and buy the rest of the year! LOL

I want fun- and I’m OK with nothing.

If my husband wants to get me stuff for my jobs around the house, that’s fine. I’ll get him a new mouse for his computer at work or a pack of trash can liners.

I think the issue is usually when men either (1) don’t pay any attention or (2) buy what THEY want the woman to have, not what the woman wants, all the while the men get fun stuff

Really good way to make the joke without using dialogue. Fine strip today.

Dad bought a new vacuum cleaner for Mom one Christmas, while she’d gotten him something very personal (don’t remember what). It was a very chilly Christmas Day…

Why? Because things for the house were not solely Mom’s, but for the house. Everyone used that vacuum, the kitchen stuff, etc.

If Spousal Unit specifically asks for something I place in the household stuff category, that’s one thing. But to just get it, assuming SU will appreciate it? Nah, that’s marital suicide in my book.

I love practical gifts I can use in the kitchen. Some women don’t like cooking, a pan would be a bad idea for them. I love to cook and bake.

@Alise Duhon: I agree with you on the KitchenAid Mixer!!! I have both the stand unit and the portable…my pressure canner is another “hands off” item.
