After an alarmist prediction about two months ago that this spring would be rife with tornados, and vicious storms it has been one of the mildest in recent years…
Enoki: as a major tornado recently missed my best friend’s house in Arkansas by two miles, she might disagree with you. But, single incidents aren’t in fact the real story, it’s the pattern that has changed more significantly in under 200 years, than in previous “change periods”, over a time frame of hundreds of thousands, to millions of years, and involved small issues like plate tectonics that raised the Himalaya, Rockies, and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges. And yes, human impacts ARE as significant as those massive “natural” events.
When someone starts arguing that global warming is responsible for random weather disasters it is a sign that they either (1) do not know what they are talking about, or (2) do not care. In either case it severely damages their credibility on the issue.

so, if a hurricane or a tornado devastates a region, will congress say they can’t spend any money to rebuild the region, because they can’t afford it?
