Walmart is a big supporter of food stamps. it makes sure the employees can’t make a living wage and the government gives them food security. Thank God that our government doesn’t let people die of starvation. At least until we get a republican in office. Then it’s “let them eat cake” time. Be ready for the new “French” revolution.

Yes and Apple is the bastion of keeping American manufacturing going, along with Nike and other corporations

I don’t shop at Wal Mart anyway, never mind how they treat their employees — their definition of a warranty is, “that thing with all the loopholes.”Wasn’t that way when Sam Walton was still alive, but once he passed and those greedy, little brats of his took over, it was ’damn the consumer, full speed ahead."

By the mid-point of the 21st century, there will probably be only two retailers left: Wal-Mart and Amazon.com, battling it out for monopolizing supremacy!

Ah, yes. Walmart’s staff sure does make the difference. From the stockers who don’t rotate the frozen foods so that everything at the bottom of the open air freezer is rife with freezer burn, the purchasers who allow items to be out of stock for a month or more at a time, the customer service staff who happily write down your special requests then ignore it the second you turn around, to greeter who sits her @$$ on a stool and stares into space as people walk past ungreeted. The staff at my local Walmart make all the difference in the world in my attempts to purchase things at other stores before stepping foot in a Walmart.

Tig, and CJR: I was being (or trying to be) a bit funny. BUT, every year, many small mom& pop businesses close. Smaller chains are bought out. Things are moving in the direction of consolidation.
