Old insurance joke:`Two retired businessmen met one day on a bench in a south Florida park. They soon discovered that they both formerly owned clothing stores up north. Asked how he came to live in Florida, the first man explained, “I had a big fire in my store which destroyed my inventory. I was planning to retire anyway, so I took the insurance and came down here. How about you?”`The second man said, “A similar story, except my clothing inventory was washed away by a flood. I also was planning to retire anyway, so when I received my insurance money I decided to come south myself.”`The first man then leaned over on the bench and asked in a soft voice, “Tell me … how do have a flood?”

It is a little disconcerting to see that T.J. is not the least bit affected by the idea he might have been caught in the blast. Disconcerting, or a little suspicious. If any firefighters come to put out that fire and realize this is the same T.J. who scammed them some years ago, they might be calling for an arson investigation-—But that’s perfect TJ just has to claim that nobody in the fire department can be unbiased in the investigation.

Honestly the thing that proves TJ didn’t do it is the fact that he was complaining to anyone who would listen that he didn’t like the food truck business anymore. Also the insurance company can claim arson all they want but without evidence they will have a hard time not paying out.

OK, so TJ claims he has insurance. That’s a good thing. We’ll see how good his insurance is. Of course, if Ann Eiffel is the claims adjustor, he’s going to have some issues. Also, we’ll have to wait until the “investigators” determine the “official” cause of the fire. Here’s hoping Brad/Toni have nothing to do with that investigation. Or it might become the means for his departure from the strip, one way or another.

Re: the monogamy book I am reading…have just gotten past the first chapter. A lot of discussion as to why our very, very early ancestors went from trees and such to the savannah grasses. Several theories are presented, but the focus seemed to be on a male safeguarding his female and her child while hunting animals in order to have the protein which is required for bigger and better brains. No longer did the male not know who his mate was because they no longer had the sexual lives of chimps (especially that of the males) who seem to prefer polygamy over monogamy. Not a very good review here, I know, but my posts need to focus on Luann and friends. Perhaps Luann will learn about this topic if she signs up for an introductory anthropology class. ;)

If anyone is curious, their home page is is here..To go directly to the page to view the non – electric refrigerators, one can go here.”.Thanks.I don’t want one right now but have always been fascinated that they work at all, say nothing to the fact they work with no moving parts at all and one with natural gas would surely be nigh onto eternal..My father replaced a bunch of kerosene burning refrigerators in 1950 as REA ran power to distant homes. (I’m pretty sure the thermal efficiency is less than with electric powered motors.) The suckers had no moving parts and never failed other than to soot up. One other way to fail was for the thermostat to go out and a refrigerator became a freezer by not stopping..You still find some in forgotten corners of barns, put in kerosene, light the wick, watch it start to freeze.

Not necessarily your age, it could just show the area you grew up in — I would venture to say not in California, but I don’t really know. In The Glass Castle, a memoir by Jeannette Walls, I believe she describes something like this when she was growing up in the 70s and 80s, but it was in West Virginia. It’s really good reading by the way.
