The media has no creativity. Why add “-gate” to the name of every scandal? If there were another break-in at the Watergate Hotel, would they call it “watergategate”? Shouldn’t he name for Sen. Belfrey’s latest escapade be “fumigategate”? Or a fencing contractor taking bribes might be “gategate.”
