At least he’s keeping the miners employed… That’s more than the protesters can say… all they care about is the ‘MEDIA BUZZ ISSUE’ of the moment and their 15 minutes of fame.

People who are laid off or find their ‘American Dream’ shattered to the point they cannot feed their families or even give to charities anymore just DON’T COUNT.

    IT’S ALWAYS ABOUT THE ISSUE.

I remember hearing my grandfather talking about how he and his brother-in-law used to walk the tracks during the depression picking up usable pieces of coal to sell. Back then, finding a good chunk here and there was a godsend!

Broccoli gives you gas. Health-food store sells charcoal tablets to prevent gas. This is all very confusing.

Steam your broccoli for 1.5 to 2 minutes, and you’re fine. Brussels sprouts, on the other hand, are an invention of the devil.

This ‘toon is out to lunch. The ’coal in the stocking’ was not meant to be burned; it was meant to embarrass and humiliate the recipient. If the protestors want to stop Santa from using coal, they need to remind him that even where mines are inspected, coal miners still end up with black lung and other life-ending conditions. And now that the US Dept. of Mines is a virtual skeleton of its former self, there are many uninspected mines, and many more widows and children left without fathers.

Even if the coal wasn’t meant to be burned, it probably was, being useful and all. (Santa probably heats his Workshop by burning all the letters from the naughty kids!) Today’s “Thatababy” comic has a funny take on coal.

Wrong, most is generated by nuclear in Illinois. Multiple coal plants are being demolished here, even ones that have been using cleaner Wyoming coal.Even a coal plant in Indiana, which can only be gotten to from Chicago, is coming down.

The problem with broccoli is that most people who eat it wind up producing copious amounts of green house gases, such as methane! So, just say NO to broccoli!

too busy? wellll, as executive summary, the chorus goes like this:“We didn’t know at all,We didn’t see a thing. You can’t hold us to blame,What could we do?It was a terrible shame,But we can’t bear the blame.Oh no, not us, we didn’t know.”

I disagree. I think this is a marvelous cartoon. I like all the above mentioned veggies that some hate. But who cares? Do you care if I like them? No. Do I care if you don’t? Same answer. Why is it so many paragraphs begin with…“Do you know what I hate?” NO, AND I DON"T CARE. But then many would have nothing to say if you took that away from them.

Machinery to mine coal has been in existence since the 1880s, but it is mainly used for surface mining. Underground mining still relies heavily on manual labor.

No. I demand that we raise the cost of living by eliminating all the cheap forms of energy production, which will add to the cost of everything from artichokes to zip ties. (I will also demand higher taxes and more regulations, which will do the same thing.) And then I will complain about my low pay not being a living wage. Don’t expect me to be anything more than a fool. I won’t be.
