Well, if you ever wanted a strip that focused on Kevin Hart, your dreams have been answered.

Sadly, like most every other comedian today, he relies too much on one certain word (rhymes with duck) to be “funny.” Too bad Robb couldn’t use Bill Cosby because of current events since 1) He’s from Philadelphia 2) “Bill Cosby: Himself” from 1983 is one of the funniest comedy routines out there; and the only time he swears in reference to an incident in his childhood. I’m no prude, but if a comedian needs to rely so heavily on one word, maybe it’s time to rethink how funny s/he really is.

Kevin Hart is so unknown he’s doing a show at Lincoln Financial Field (70,000+ seats) in Philadelphia this summer.

“Carpet F-Bombing” seems to be the theme of most non-thinking ‘comedians’ of the day, just to stretch a ten-minute gig into a half-hour Comedy Central ‘special’ that sounds like a morse-code test with all the bleeps therein.Sadly, ‘eloquence’ and ‘turn of phrase’ is a lost talent demonstrated by Shelly Berman, Bob Newhart, Jonathan Winters, even crazy ol’ Dave Gardner (RIP) I severely doubt that today’s ‘comedians’ will ever show up in “Greatest Quotations of the 21st Century.”

Lenny Bruce appeared on Steve Allen’s show with the requirement that he do a clean act. It was great, well received, and Bruce was totally shocked that he could get laughs. Blue is overrated.

We saw Red Skelton in the 70’s, when he was getting along in years (he was born in 1913). He performed for two solid hours without a break, was hilarious (to us, anyhow), and never used a blue word. It’s possible!
