The ISIS strategy is to get us to invade again. It will cost us another trillion dollars, incite the Muslims in the middle east to hate us for interfering, and after ten years or so it will be as successful as the Iraq invasion. That is what asymmetric warfare is all about.
This comment is one of the most cogent to appear here on this topic. Our militarism inflames the Islamic idiots. We need to butt out and tend to our own problems.
Republicans want Obama to do what THEY want him do do; but not if they have to share responsibility. If he does what they want on his own initiative, he’ll be called a dictator. This is how we get dysfunctional government.
@ Ted Lind Fully agree. No matter how many, or few combat troops we send, ISIS will still gain many points, & recruits..What Obama does, or does not do, is not the right subject. THESE OVER-COMPENSATED, AMORAL MORONS* WE KEEP SENDING TO CONGRESS is the most important subject right now. Too many just want to oppose the president, to score some points, and all they are really doing is showcasing our inability to be an effective leader in the world. .
better question, how will it be before we have more single teror attacks like Paris and Denmark. It’s coming and our pres sits by and does zilch!Nothing was really done for Kayla, but we exchange 5 for one who was possibly a deserter!
On the ISIL issue and warfighting; Jordan, Egypt, and Libya are now stepping up to the plate after the latest ISIL outrage, that seems to be a public relations suicide pact to most of the world. While the claim is this recruits more crazies to their cause, kinda’ like our own chickenhawks who respond to their releases, it’s counter-productive on either side.
@NancyAre you paying any attention? Are you aware that under President Obama’s direction, US Special Forces and the CIA have been and are hunting and eliminating terrorist leaders in Africa and throughout the Mid East?

Thank you for an intelligent comment, there aren’t many here, they’re either stupid GOP comments or they’re dumb Democratic comments.

And another thing. Don’t think that Russia, China, North Korea and Iran are not taking notes about our leaders unwillingness to pull together.

Mangy: they, like others, recognize we’ve go a leader who isn’t “shoot now, ask questions, well, maybe, later.”
For that, we’re better off now, but if folks get stupid for a Bush in 16, well how many troops to “take” Iran?
